Fourteen year old Yarna Bashet has no family other than her mother Layla. After getting kicked out of the apartment that they had been staying in they move in to a light house. With Layla barely getting paid as a waitress they are forced to steal food from stores, but when Layla gets caught for crimes a little bigger than stealing she hands Yarna a piece of paper that will change her life as she knows it. 

"take this to the lighthouse and read it there, because I know you are going to be mad"

"I'm saying that, I'm going away for a while and if you want to gain just a little insight into our family read the paper, if not," Layla paused, "Well it's up to you, I just hope you understand".

She meets another girl there, Astrid, who has these same abilities, and they team up to escape the place and warn everyone about the scientists experimenting on humans. But can Rhea trust her accomplice?
