Struck by Lightning is an anthology featuring works that span several years of my life. Some are new and fresh, some I wrote or first conceived of several years ago. Most stories will feature elements of cosmic horror while some stay a little more grounded. Though all will delve into elements of the fantastical, mystical or scary.

Some of the stories are inspired by other works, mostly video games like Rimworld or Escape from Tarkov and convey my love and admiration for them. Some stand on their own two feet completely or derive inspiration from some other long gone place.

I hope you enjoy. This work will be updated whenever I get around to finishing another story.

Reality's Escape: a collection of short stories by KeriMiss

This is a bunch of short stories I had to get out of my system. Each part is a complete story, so you don't have to worry about being left hanging! 1. Heist. I was was blinded by a sudden wave of story, character, and plot (which usually don't coincide with each other) while innocently on the way home from music practice. The result? A really cool story about a villain who doesn't stay bad and a heroine who isn't always good. 2. Antivirus. This is a story I wrote in high school, so bear with me... it took about three days in the writing, before I had much experience. Feel free to skip to the next story if you'd rather! 3. The Piano. For the romantic sentimental who like to wallow in what might have been. 4. The Night of January 7, 2018. Have you ever had one of those dreams that seemed incredibly real? Scarily deep and intense? 5. In The Archive of Biatre. This story is just a cute excerpt from my character's childhood. Note: only one character survives to the actual book. 6. Virtual Life. I have imagined what it would be like to live in a world that consisted of white walls, solar powered energy, and nearly complete dependence on machinery. 7. Almost an Override. This story is the result of a writing prompt on blog.reedsy.com which is an awesome website! I combined the prompt with my experience in customer service, and came out with something akin to comedy :) 8. A Perfectly Normal Thought Process. Another writing prompt from blog.reedsy.com about the "perfectly normal" state of my mind. 9. The Appointed Time. This was a New Year's prompt from blog.reedsy.com. It took me two days to finish, and all the characters are actually friends from church! 10. Leaving Footprints. Reaching the max character limit... blog.reedsy.com! 11. Sweet Little Things. Tales From the Void by AlDragonObsessor

*This series features dragons from the mobile game DragonVale. I do not claim ownership of the dragons or designs, only the individual personalities and created lore, which majorly diverges from the canon DragonVale lore.* *Potential gore warning for some of these stories. There are some graphic scenes of violence in "Skytooth" , "Dougal" , "Fiona" , "Photon" , and "Jolt" * This is a series of short stories spun-off from my graphic novel series: From the Void, In the Void, and To the Void. This trilogy documented the journey of two groups of dragons from a dimension known simply as the Void. After a massive famine, this world falls into chaos, giving rise to a pack of cannibals that systematically ends the population. This group is known as the Voidian Raiders. Over the course of the three series, we meet a band of survivors that ultimately defeats the raiders and, later on, teams up with them to save the dying Void. This culminates in the remaining Voidian population settling an island in the Dragon Universe, starting over from scratch. Tales From the Void is a series of side stories, documenting the journeys of other Voidians and their struggles in background of these events. Some directly intersect with the events of the Void series, some only connect losely, and some are connected to entirely other storylines in my vast Dragon Universe continuity. Most are written, however, in a way that you do not need to understand the full scope of the lore, and you are given enough context that you can get the basic story.
