Arune is a former circus freak who was sold as a child to the famous Circe Luminarie and endured abuse for most of his life. Eventually, he escaped and founded his own circus, Starlight Forest Circus. Unfortunately, with such little funds, his circus can't compete with Luminarie and needs to find something to draw in the crowds. Eventually, he finds a girl with incredible gymnastic abilities, Keanna Sage-Ghost. He decides to form a relationship with her by posing as the new boy in her quaint town so he can have her join his circus. One night, he invites her to his circus only to have her caught and put in a cage, where he makes a few changes.
The new performer at Starlight, Puppy, has recently woken from an accident that left her in a coma for a few weeks. She tries to go back to normal, but her memory loss is taking a toll on her. Luckily, Arune is there to fill in the details, and she soon falls for him.
However, things take a turn for the worse when Puppy overhears a phone call between the BeastMaster, Calliope, and Circe Luminarie's ringleader, Edmund. To her horror, she discovers that Edmund wants Starlight for himself to "put all the freaks in their place" and plans to buy Starlight by causing accidents to happen to performers and guests so Arune will look bad and lose money, so he has no choice but to sell. Then things start to go wrong. Performers get hurt during practice, things break, and Starlight sees fewer and fewer patrons. After hearing the plan, Puppy and the 'stars,' Starlight's top performers, priority is to stop him from taking over, but they must keep it a secret from their boss, or else he might surrender.
