To some, the darkness is frightening. To other particular individuals, it's exhilarating. Winter, a teenager in a small Michigan town, has always found herself compelled by the dark. While the rest of the world is asleep, Winter explores, creates, and thinks, trying to make sense of her odd passion. For years she is forced to believe that she is the only one with this relationship with the dark. Although she hates to admit it, sometimes it's lonely, because no one else quite understands what it is that she is feeling. Still, somewhere in the deep recesses of her mind, she knows that someone, somewhere, must share the same experience as her.
And one day, she finally meets that individual, out in the darkness. But after so many years of being the only one, does Winter really want to share these experiences with the mysterious one that hides in the trees?
Elliot Jensen and Elliot Fintry have a lot in common. They share the same name, the same house, the same school, oh and they hate each other but, as they will quickly learn, there is a fine line between love and hate.
