14 year olds- Christina and Elizabeth- walked down the halls of their home, in fact they'd lived there for the past 9 years.
The girls were not delinquents, actually. But they were brainwashed by their so called 'parents' into thinking that stealing was 'okay'. So they were sent here when they were for adoption.
Since it was the first of the month, that means one thing and one thing only- adoption day.
They hadn't cotton adopted in 9 years and it's not like they were expecting to be adopted anytime soon, really. Who would want two 'delinquent' thirteen year old girls sent because their parents didn't want them and they 'stole'.
And since they didn't have their parents, all they had was each other.
Christiana and Elizabeth were practically joined at the hip, and have been for 9 years.
It had always been them against the world, but it may not be anymore until they showed up.
