Mimochodem zerkałam na przechodniów pędzących ku nieznanym mi celom. Każdy z nich miał za sobą przeszłość. Każdy z nich miał przed sobą przyszłość. Ta ostatnia rzecz budziła mój największy strach, gdyż w ciągu ostatniego pół roku wiele się zmieniło. Gdyby ktoś probował wmówić mi w listopadzie, jak to się potoczy, w życiu bym nie uwierzyła. Ale był już maj.
