This story is pretty much about the arctic fox and what people are doing to it. Though this might not be how it happens the arctic fox is close to being endangered. This is happening because of the arctic fox being a prime target for the fur trade, they have also fallen victim to diseases spread by dogs, and they are also losing land to the larger red fox.
