Indomitus Duff, struggling to find a future outside of high school decides one day she's going to let fate come her way instead of chasing its tail endlessly when the world starts to lose colour, her immediate response is to start running. This eventually leads her to a rather untrustworthy group of people who tell her strange theories.
Ones that tell her her families a lot more than just dysfunctional and scattered.
Ones that say that she has to do something before her family dies and takes the planet with them.
Ones that seem to carry more truth than lies.

Indigo

8 parts Complete

In the assumed year of 2332, approximately 280 years after a devastating nuclear attack changed the course of life on Earth, a once great city rose from the ashes. New Dallas had become a thriving post-war metropolis, and the ruling council sought to keep it that way. Books containing the sins of the past: racism, misogyny, radical religious ideology... all were kept from the population to avoid history repeating itself. This is the story of Indigo, a tough and tattooed street-smart young woman who tries to fight the system from behind the scenes. As she learns more and more about the past, she discovers that her future is threatened not by the council, but by a man with aspirations of dictatorship. She is suddenly thrust into the unlikely role of savior, with the lives of the lower class hanging in the balance. *** The first person who read this described it as The girl with the Dragon Tattoo meets Divergent. Indigo is not only an unlikely hero, but she has to battle her own demons, including the loss of her parents and her own promiscuity. Contains violence, language, implied sex, and: **rape trigger** (one discussion, and two attempted). If you like stories where the unlikeliest of people can make a difference, then this might be for you. Original story, all original characters. Part 1 of a three part series.
