They weren't supposed to fall for each other. They weren't even supposed to meet. 

Josiah Smythe is one of the most-respected, but under-the-radar NBA players. Known for being a supportive teammate, working his ass off (no matter how many times he gets traded) and keeping his personal life personal, Josiah is on the verge of becoming an All-Star. 

No one would describe Brett West as flying under anyone's radar. The notorious writer holds nothing back in her constantly-viral op-eds and personal essays for the edgy website The Word.

When an advertiser for the site takes issue with some of her work, she finds herself out of a job. When a friend asks her to cover an assignment profiling Josiah, she can't turn down the cheque - even though she's never written a sports story in her life. She actually kind of hates sports. She expects this to be just another job with just another subject, but she couldn't be more wrong.
