The Red Army is near its goal of taking over the whole world. When Tom and Matt end up in Tord's hands they're 'fixed' from their brutal wounds. On the other hand, Edd is now at large, trying to plan to kill the Red Leader because Edd thinks that Tom and Matt are missing or have become POWs (Prisoners Of War). They won three lotteries, which gave them enough money (with extra) to buy a new house or to rebuild the old one. This all happened in five months, people who knew what happened to them would consider them very lucky. Though they thought that Tord died during the incident, they would think of him from time to time and they would be sad. Especially Tom, whenever he thought about the communist he would try his best to get him off his mind. Though, no matter what he did, he never succeeded. He felt horrible for killing him.
