Maybe it was all of Hades talk of evil and danger that made her imagination run on overdrive tonight. That had to be it. Yet, why couldn't Katherine shake the feeing of someone standing behind her?

Looking over her shoulder, she saw a silhouette move in the shadows. To any human eye, they wouldn't see it. But to Katherine, she saw it clear as day.

Before she could unlock the door, she was slammed against the wall, a strong hand suspending her off the ground. Her body shook with fear as she looked at the intruder. He had a striking resemblance to Zeus and Posideon, but he had the same black hair as Hades.

"My my, you have blossomed over your leaving," the man smirked. "Such a perfect flower to pluck."

"W-Who are you," Katherine stuttered.

"Why, I'm your father-in-law," he said, feign offense. "Call me Cronus."

***

Life couldn't be more perfect for Katherine Bakers. Not only had she found love in Hades, a Greek God, she is also the new Queen of the Underworld. Coming back after her first six months away, she expected to see Hades waiting for her in open arms, not bleeding on their bed.

Something is brewing. Something that even makes the mighty gods and goddesses shiver with fear. A war between gods and the Father of Titans and Gods; Cronus.

And they have something that he wants; Katherine.

Will history repeat itself as Katherine is the center of a growing war and a vengeful titan, or can Hades stop Cronus before he takes Katherine forever?

"I am Brunhilde, the eldest of the 13 Valkyrie sisters and nee-". "No". Brunhilde's eyes widened in surprise as Percy glares at her with hatred and hostility. "Look here woman. The man on the throne abruptly stood up, his dark black eyes shining with an untammed flame, one that turned everything into embers. It was obvious that this powerful man did not like those who spoke back, espeically a small human girl like the one in front of him. The human girl felt the anger radiate off the man and started to run towards the entrance she came from, only to suddenly feel arms wrap around her waist, crushing her against a very solid chest. She opened her mouth to yell, but a strong hand covered her mouth. "You are a fiesty little girl." It was evident that the man was smirking in his voice; he was enjoying her fear. "Now, I do not want to punish you so early. So please, be the good girl that you are and be quiet. Not that screaming will do you any good; you are in the Underworld, after all." --- It had been five years after the death of her older sister before nineteen year old Katherine Bakers could even sleep peacefully at night. She had witnessed her own sisters murder, leaving scars beyond compare. She withdrew from her family and became a quiet recluse. They say gut feelings are your guardian angels, Ella Thomas will soon find out that hers was leading her to something she could never imagine existed. Hades has watched over Ella since the day she was born, he was her guardian angel from the depths of the underworld. For centuries he's waited, waited for someone to love. He vowed to himself to protect Ella and only watch from afar. She was so innocent and so human, he couldn't take that away from her. For 20 years he kept his promise, for 20 long and grueling years he watched from afar, until something happens, something that Hades can't ignore. He makes a hasty decision and leaves the underworld, heading to Earth where he knows she will be. But there's a catch, the very person, or should I say God, that Hades despises the most will stop at nothing to destroy his happiness, even if it means killing someone so harmless and oh so very fragile. ....... "How do I look?" He muttered, stepping out of the bathroom. The room seemed increasingly smaller with his large stature in it. I nearly gasped, why did he have to look so good in those grey sweats? I swallowed, trying to act unaffected by his beauty, "Convincingly human." ....... 1st in Love - 13 June 2021 4th in Romance - 13 June 2021 1st in Gods - 13 June 2021 1st in Dark - 30 September 2021 4th in Darkness - 30 May 2022
