Allison Mackie-Pearson is a midwestern mathematics consultant who worked for SpaceX in California for the last 2 years. Her unique powers allow her to analyze mathematics and fix them without much effort and she has a Masters in Mathematical Engineering but is lousy at putting the physical pieces together. (She always thought she was just smart until supers became a thing.)
One day, she was told by her employer, Elon Musk, that she was transferring and was given vague details as to where but she trusted her boss completely. When she shows up at a Malibu home and is greeted by none other than Iron Man, she has a mental breakdown because of how much his genius can terrify her. As it turns out, Pepper Potts had left him due to his obsession with his Iron Man identity and he had been looking for an assistant. Musk had at least sent her resume to him in an effort to help the guy out. She's going to need a lot more coffee after their first meeting that much she's already sure of.
(This fanfiction takes place after the events in Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015.)

After their third, and hopefully final encounter with Thanos, the reunited Avengers are left to pick up the pieces of the last five years and attempt to move on with their lives. Even with the giant hole left behind by the loss of Tony and Vision, they're still met with the joy that Natasha's return brings. With Sam and Bucky temporarily living with Freya and Steve, who are excitedly expecting twins, things seem like they're slowly returning to a new normal. But Freya can't seem to shake an uneasy feeling after her brief, but nearly violent confrontation with Wanda. The feeling isn't only putting her on edge, but it carries a darkness with it as well. Not long after Wanda leaves, something causes Freya to have an episode with her powers. But instead of her powers lashing out, they're forced to contain an out of control Freya in order to protect the others. Once it passes, new revelations begin to tie everything back to Wanda and her unknown activities. Freya worries for the younger woman and hopes she didn't make a mistake by encouraging her to take time for herself. However, that worry and hope quickly dissolves into fear and guilt when an old friend reaches out for help with a situation only Freya might understand. Without hesitation, Freya, Steve, Sam and Bucky rush to aid the contact. Only to come face to face with something so bizarre and terrifying, even Freya has the urge to stay away. When new intel comes through about a Hydra weapon, the avengers split into two teams, one checking out a new base, while the other scours an old one. It's no coincidence that the intel comes through, and they find files about experiments done to one person. 'winter 2.0' the team calls her, but to Bucky, the fear sinks in as memories resurface about one soldier in particular, Ace. Stronger, deadlier and she made the winter soldier in him afraid. The work together to find out all they can, not realising that they are being watched by the very soldier herself. After an attack on the compound, which leaves quite a few of the team shaken, one avengr in particular is intrigued by the univited guest now residing in the holding cells. Who is the masked assailant, and why is it, she listened to him? **** The soldier begins to remember her past, fighting against all the Hydra conditioning, to remember who she was. Why does one of the men stand out? Who is he, and why does she have an overwhelming need to protect him? Pepper was going to learn as much as she could and help her friends. Even if she ended up losing her fiance in the process.
