Evan Adler is the kind of guy your mother possibly even change your home lock, some you'd want to stay away from. Van has more than enough tattoo, he works for a gangster club full of thugs, he gets into far too many fights, does drugs and even smokes up to two packs of Cigarettes in a day. What Van didn't expect was to save the sweet, smart, awfully quiet Viola Fanning in his senior class from a horrible almost- suicide accident. Nobody noticed her, but Van is about to give her the attention every man should've.
Van wants to spoil her; he wants to buy her dresses, accessories, and take to fancy dinners, anything to find the cause to her depression. Van decides to bring sunshine to Viola's world, something like a smile so foreign to her. When the ugly and horrible truth is out, Van's stone cold heart will melt and leave him breaking.
