Just hold on for one moment. Imagine something for me. Imagine that you live in a world where you're hunted down for being anything other than normal. For having 'gifts', and sometimes, not being able to control them.
But someone is there to help you. To protect and care about you. Someone finally has their hand out to pull you out of your despair and grief. Professor Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters. A place where people with abilities beyond human belief go because no one else will accept them for who they are. Outcasts, rejects, runaways, freaks, monsters. Mutants. There, they are family, friends. Because everyone is equal, and has been through the same trauma and hatred their whole lives.
Taryn is one of those people. She has ice running through her veins and a pair of white wings retrofitted onto her back. Her parents allowed scientists to experiment on her at birth. She's anything but normal, but at least she's somewhere she knows she's safe. Hopefully.

{Set before X Men, then skipping into X2) Sierra Storm was always an anomaly among her peers. She always wanted nothing more for herself, to just be normal. When she manifested her powers at the age of 12, she was so terrified to find out that she wasn't normal. Until one day, Charles Xavier tracked her down, to tell her or confirm to her rather, that she was in fact a mutant, a very, very powerful one at that. She was brought to the Xavier's School for the Gifted, and she was accepted and integrated into the school, despite her doubts and all of her misgivings about being a mutant and especially a powerful one like Charles said about her. She was not expecting to find two boys there, that had all complete oppositional mutations who also happened to be best friends. One had the mutant name Iceman or Bobby, while the other was Pyro, or John as he had been called since birth. They quickly gave her the nickname Element, after realizing that she had many useful abilities and they were all related to the elements. They also found out very quickly enough to their pleasure, after accidents around the school, that by combining their gifts of their specific elements to hers, that they could create something even more powerful then what they already had on their own. Sierra was not one to scare easily, especially not when it came to being snuck up on, but there is one thing that has always scared her, and that always will scare her. Losing the acceptance of her family. Human or Mutant Normal or Different The only thing Sierra ever wanted, was a family. Book One in the [Elemental Series] I own nothing in this book except for the plotlines revolvin' around Sierra that don't appear in the movies or the comics. Also, Sierra Storm is entirely my own, and i will not tolerate plagiarism.

*Lightly editing, changing grammar and spelling errors, etc. Plot has no changed* When Sariah finds herself the newest member of the X-Men, she struggles to fit in. At the Xavier Institute she is surrounded by the unfamiliar- people like her; a happy environment; people who care. This is because Sariah has been in foster care since birth, having too many families to count. She finds it hard to trust and make friends. She is used to being rejected and given up on. But Sariah soon learns that the X-Men NEVER give up, and they help her to overcome her past. But little did they know they would be helping her overcome the shocking revelations and betrayals that will take place after her arrival. Sariah's past catches up with her more than she would like, and it soon becomes apparent that some emotional scars cannot be fixed. No matter what Sariah does, she will be forever haunted.
