15-year-old Julia Brown has a really big secret. Her parents physically and verbally abuse her. One day her best friend, Amy gets beat up by a guy she just met named Michael. Julia quickly runs to her house and helps her out. At Amy's house, they kiss and fall in love with each other. One fatal night Amy tells Julia about her suicidal thoughts. Julia does everything she can to talk Amy out of committing suicide but it's too late. The next morning she finds her body in the bathroom. Julia has to learn how to live without her best friend. She has to learn how to accept the fact that Amy is dead and there is nothing she can do about it.
