Set in the year 3037, there are only six hundred known squids left in the oceans -- each breed having both a female and a male due to careful preservation techniques. After successfully breeding the last two Vampire Squids, Musham and Liros, scientists noticed something strange begins to happen to Musham. As they continue to keep her under careful observation, she suddenly vanishes. With only a few months until her eggs hatch, and she inevitably perishes, scientists must race against time to try and find the eggs to bring them home safely.

Plot: An international crew of scientists board a large state-of -the art oceanographic vessel privately funded by an anonymous source. The itinerary is to travel down the west coast of the Americas and travel the South Pacific to Antarctica.
