You seem to have an issue understanding where you are right now." My hands began to shake as I felt his fangs scrap against my neck, sharp and almost ticklish. "I know you aren't stupid, Esma. You know what I'm capable of and yet you continue to test me. You are lucky that I am a very, very, patient man." I'd never been bit before but I knew it was excruciating. I braced myself for the pain, clenching my eyes shut, heaving in breaths that I tried to control but was too weak to do so. "I can feel your heart going a hundred miles a minute.
