The realm of Nyxshire lay beneath an endless twilight, a place where dreams and reality bled together until neither could be told apart. One of many great realms, it thrived in the delicate balance between illusion and truth. At its heart ruled Princess Dawn, a sorceress gifted with the power to craft illusions so vivid they could weave their own reality. But no illusion had ever felt as tangible as the love she had found in the abyssal depths-the forbidden kingdom ruled by Kaladin, the knight of blood and bone. Their meeting had been unexpected, a moment stolen from fate. Kaladin was a warrior feared across realms, his heart long since frozen by duty and loss. Dawn, despite her gift of deception, had never known anything as real as the way he had looked at her in the dark. In the suffocating depths of his realm, they had found something neither had dared to seek-love. Yet, love alone was not enough. Kaladin abandoned her, convinced that his nature made him incapable of loving anything without destroying it. He left Dawn to the twilight of Nyxshire, believing their time together had been nothing more than a fleeting dream. But the affairs of their world did not wait for broken hearts. A marriage of convenience was arranged between their two realms, an alliance bound by duty rather than desire. And when Dawn saw him again-standing before her, not as her lost love but as her betrothed-he was unrecognizable. Gone was the man who had once held her in the darkness. In his place stood a stranger with cold eyes and a cruel tongue, acting as though their love had never existed. Had it? Doubt took root in her mind. Was her time in the abyssal depths real, or had her own power betrayed her? Had she crafted an illusion so perfect, so intoxicating, that even she had believed it? If their love had been real, why had he forgotten? And if it had not... why did the pain feel so real?
