My name is Michelle. I live in Australia in an awesome beach house,with my best friend,Jake,a couple houses away. Life is good for us, until mom gets a promotion. To Manhattan. It's a city. Totally opposite of here. Home is where the heart is. It is also where the water and sand meet. There's no way I'm moving to Manhattan. I beg my mom and somehow manage to convince her too let me stay with Jake-for the next couple of years! Im so happy!! Jake and I have been befriends since we were young. We did everything together and thought of each other as beat friends and siblings we both never had. Secretly,I admire Jake. For his looks and his personality. He is always so sweet. But he doesn't know how ik feel about him... Will these couple of years change everything between is for better or for worse? Only time will tell...

At that moment, my mind started wandering to all the things that I could be doing to him right now...but I stopped that train of thought, immediately, as it started heading to all the wrong places... "Would you like to dance?" the boy asks me. I stare deep into his blue eyes, but I can't figure out who he is. He's tall with dark hair and the brightest blue eyes I've ever seen. I know everyone at this school, but with his features hidden behind his mask I can't tell who he is. "Sure, I would love to." Did I just say that? I agreed to dance with a random boy who I don't know. He takes my hand and leads me to the dance floor. We dance for a few songs and then he asks me, "Would you like to take a walk? I know the perfect place." I nod and he pulls me behind him off the dance floor. We leave the hotel and start walking down a little path. At the end of the path I notice a little fountain surrounded by candles. I wonder if he set this up. We walk over to the fountain and we sit down on the edge. Instead of getting to surf from sunrise to sunset, instead of being able to check out the 'hot babes' as Eric would say, and instead of having the summer of a lifetime he gets stuck with a summer job. It doesn't help one bit when a mysterious grudge-holding girl ends up staying at the hotel Casper's working at. After a chance encounter that goes horribly wrong the girl obviously has it out for Casper. If personalities could be graded like school work Casper would be a solid C. He's average. He's not memorable or extraordinary or even remarkable. The mystery girl however would be an F as in a failure of a human being. She's mean, cruel, and simply unbearable. So what happens when Casper finds out the girl has secret? Maybe...just maybe he'll realize there's more to her than a rude, crude exterior. I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace.
