Elizabeth Rose walks home every night, nothing but murky rural streets, inky against the English night sky to keep her company. Her safe space has been invaded, however, feeling like every corner en route is a void trying to suck her in, and every tendril of dark is waiting to pull her into oblivion.
It is the shadows, that is all she understands, and the thought has been quaking her shoulder blade. No amount of looking in retrospect can make her lay a finger on what's wrong.
