It's the year 5479 and life is terrible for some humans. But for most it's pretty good. Vampires have taken over the world. But not as you'd expect. They didn't take every human into captivity. They only take the second born child and make them work for whatever vampire bids the most money for them. That's right, they're auctioned off. Sophia, or Zoe as she likes to be called, is the second born child in her family. At the age of 12 she is sent to a 'school' to learn how to 'properly' serve a vampire.
