When alien ships land it's all anyone can talk about. But for a year, nothing happens and the world starts to believe it's just an elaborate prank.
Until they finally emerge from their space crafts.
And that's when I saw him. Jace'el, son of Thral'el, leader of the Others. I don't know if I can trust him, but I do know I can't stay away even if I wanted to.
They came offering world peace, and everything was perfect... right up until people started getting sick. Now a virus is running rampant through every city in the world, decimating the entire human population as well as the Others.
And that's when the runners first appear. Humans and Others alike, ravaged by the disease and turned into flesh-eating monsters.
The worst part? There is no cure.

I narrow my eyes at him, taking note of his features in case I miraculously survive this encounter. His hair is a dark auburn and his eyes that watch me with amusement are a dark blue. His attire was a black suit which seemed out of place considering he was standing in an alleyway. If I manage to escape I want to be confident that'd I'd be able to have this bastard put behind bars. Human Status
I live in a world where I am nameless. I live in a world where I do not matter except or unless I am owned by someone. I do not have rights, freedoms, joys, wishes, or aspirations. I am property. I was born and raised to belong to someone that will one day take me away like the fairy tale stories that I listened to everyday in the house I live in. I sat on the simple wooden bed hoping that my owner was nice and kind. I hated to think about some of the stories that I heard about the other girls like me. I hated thinking about being exterminated because I made my owner unhappy. I thought to myself that I would try real hard to keep him happy. My new owner had thirty days to return me. If he returned me and no one else was interested I would be exterminated.
