Katarina was born and raised on the Western side of the Wall, protected by her Community, The Fallen Angels, and has never in her life seen a Human. She has heard  stories about them all her life though: The Humans were cruel, mean creatures. They built the Wall to keep away the Winged and Mages, wanting nothing to do with them. Katarina had always believed those stories, because she didn't see a reason why she wouldn't. 

Now, Katarina is 17 years old. She has a stable life, knows what to do in emergencies, even has a position as Captain in her Community.

And then...

Everything falls apart.

Things nobody ever thought were real get involved, and suddenly her Community isn't the only thing that needs saving.
