August never had much to his name but that never stopped him from succeeding in life. Growing up in New Orleans and losing his brother, he decides to move to Atlanta, Georgia to start over. He leaves a city of pain behind, along with one of his closest childhood friend, Monique. Years pass as August makes his climb to the top, then finally decides to return home to visit his hometown. There, he comes back in touch with his old hood and decides to go on the quest to find his brother's killer. This is a process for him because he feels as if he has the world on his back. August loses a lot of people, digs up past feuds, and falls in love while doing so. He realizes that he may never be understood and is far from perfect, but knows that he has loyal people by his side which pushes him to hustle harder.
