It involves with 14 year old Leah [Leilani] Buckley, who moves to Madison, Wisconsin after Hurricane Irma hit her home in Florida. She meets Marie Wilson, a 15 year old flute player in Lincoln High. They both become friends, and Leah has a strong bond for Marie. Leah then confesses to Marie that she loves her because of the bond that brought them together, and comes out as a lesbian.
