The world outside was vast and colourful, but my world was a tiny box, surrounded with hush voices and emotionless faces. But his bright golden eyes were all the colour I needed, his kind face filled with happiness was the only face I cared for. He replaced the tiny, cramped room and became my world. If it is a sin to love than I shall surely be the downfall of this family. Based on the infamous urban legend on Himuro Mansion, this story is based the legend of the last Rope Shrine Maiden who fell in love despite never learning what love was.

She was never anyone's first choice. Never the one they longed for, never the name whispered in love, never the heart someone ached for. She was just *there*-a replacement, a temporary fix for someone else's absence. When things went wrong, when mistakes needed a scapegoat, the blame always found its way to her. It didn't matter if she deserved it. It never did. And then, *he* happened. He didn't see her as a substitute. He didn't compare her to ghosts of the past. He loved her-*chose* her-like she was the only one who had ever mattered. He held her when she wanted to disappear, stayed when she pushed him away, made her feel like she was something more than just an afterthought. But love was never kind to people like her. Theirs wasn't a fairytale. It wasn't easy. It wasn't perfect. It was messy, painful, riddled with scars from battles neither of them were prepared to fight. But they held on. Because for the first time, she wasn't someone's second choice. She was *his*. And she would rather shatter into a thousand pieces than lose that. Even if it broke her. Even if fate was never on their side.
