On the distant ocean planet of Mundus Aqua lies a top-secret military base, known as Challenger Deep. It's purpose to the public: To study the local marine ecosystems and wildlife for scientific advancement.

It's actual purpose: Illegal DNA experimentation, a high-security prison, and an outpost on the edge of human controlled space.

Built deep into the planet's oceanic crust, and 25 levels deep, whatever happens there certainly will stay there... until now.

The United Systems Quick Reaction Force received a garbled distress call coming from the base. Radio contact was completely lost soon after. In order to maintain the base's secret, a single marine platoon is sent in. What they find will send shockwaves throughout human controlled space.

That is if they can make it out alive. Because as it turns out, they're not the only people looking for something...

[COMPLETED] War. Sacrifice. Two inevitabilities of human nature come together once more as the human race encounters its latest Great Filter. The Covenant. A genocidal alien alliance hell-bent on the utter destruction of man-kind. A theocratic society convinced that humanity is the only thing standing in its way between eternal damnation, and ascension to godliness. As humanity quickly realizes they're outmanned, outmatched, and outgunned they call on the young and vibrant to defend their way of life. Joseph Gray. An ordinary young man living an ordinary life finds his society crumbling apart at the seams due to an ever-intensifying plague of insurrection that seems to spread faster than it can be quelled. After joining the Marines to make a difference, to bring stability to his society, he soon realizes that he's no more than a minuscule cog in a very large machine. Harvest. A major farming colony at the edge of UNSC-controlled space goes offline. Just as Gray thinks he'll coast out his short-term service in the Corps, tragedy strikes, and a new player enters the field. Now Gray must desperately juggle the responsibilities of maintaining his relationship with the girl of his dreams, raising a future family, surviving the Covenant onslaught, and most of all: Keeping his humanity. The Covenant doesn't play by the rules in their quest to exterminate humanity, and as the UNSC grows desperate, Gray's world will be rocked time and time again. ***Warning: Mature Content*** Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to Halo. I woke up in a metal cell, wearing some kind of black jumpsuit and bulletproof vest. It was strange that I knew the room was metal, or it was a cell, when I couldn't remember my own name. Or where I came from or what I was doing here. The room was tiny. My feet touched the door when I lied down. I stood up and pushed the door. Solid. Locked. It wasn't meant to be opened. I stepped back and analysed the situation. One - if it was not meant to be opened, it had to be opened. Two - I didn't know what was outside. Three - I didn't want to be locked up. The third reason outweighed all the others. Instantly, I knew what to do.
