Her father was British, and her mother was full Filipino. He was never with them until he decided to take them all out of the country. The idea of 'abroad' had never occurred in Van's life. So when she heard this news from her mom, she was beyond shock. Just thinking about leaving her wonderful life and friends in the Philippines was a big no. But of course, her mother was just stubborn as she is, so she never took Van's no as an answer.

When they arrived at this so called country called Canada, Vans felt differently. Her environment, the people, the society, and culture were all new to her. She felt good and bad at the same time. But what surprises her more was when she met Cameron Davison. Vans had met her in the worst and weirdest situation ever. However, what came out of that meeting was a friendship was built.
