The first time she laid her eyes on him on that day, as the Ark of the Covenant was being marched to the Tabernacle, Bathsheba was astonished.

The King she saw was far from what she had imagined... She heard of stories about Kings from neighboring kingdoms, and the image that was painted in her mind were stoic, extravagantly dressed men who held either a sword or a chalice of wine in their hand. 

What she saw, however, was the complete opposite, she saw a man. His handsome countenance glowing with the Anointing of Adonai, arms and feet dancing to the beat of the drums in free worship. 

It was a scene she never saw before, and it brought both wonder and fascination to her young heart. 

King David, the man after God's own Heart. The warrior that Yahweh used to strike the giant enemy down with one stone, the Musician that won the heart of God and the hearts of the people of Israel. 

It was God's Anointed. 

Never did she dream of getting anywhere near this Anointed King. Never did she have the strength of even imagining such endeavor. 

But will her thoughts match with reality when at one night, as she was cleansing herself from her impurity, the King's gaze accidentally sets upon her?

A retelling of King David and Bathsheba's Forbidden love, and how Adonai can turn even the most wretched of deeds into wonderful testimonies.
