Violet Pines lost her big sister one night when she was ten years old. She regrets letting her sister go, to do stand up to someone horrible that she would never be able to face. Violet lives her life in fear and guilt, until she captures the attention of a young boy called Nick, who just so happens to be connected to her sister's disappearance. At that time, Violet begins to receive taunting text messages  from someone who claims to be her sister. The unknown sender warns her to stay away from Nick, but Violet can't help but to become more and more charmed by Nick and is torn between trusting her meddlesome sister or the handsome boy who just can't seem to get enough of her.
