Prehistoric family, The Croods, have adopted a more advanced cavewoman, pretty much a human, named Rose. The family live life very normally, except for Rose wanting to run away cause her family is getting on her nerves and holding her back, until another human comes into the picture. Grug is distrustful of this new person but it becomes apparent that he is right about the impending destruction of their world. Now, they all live in a particularly dangerous moment in time.
