Your heart is breaking,
And the person you love mind is not there,
They are awake but their body revolves around something else something that they can't survive without something that may end up changing your whole perspective of what you thought was life
Driving you away from them, they don't understand or maybe they do.
You will never know.
Because once they put the poison in their mouth they're not mom anymore.
They're not brother.
They're not sister,
or daughter or son.
That person that you love so much, has let body consume,
That little white pill that can change everybody in the room.

Emotional Amnesia
Sometimes when I say "I'm okay", I want someone to look me in the eyes, hug me tight and say, "I know you're not". I have felt like this many times in my life; as a kid, teenager and as an adult. I have seen many things in my life and felt even more things that has been horribly depressing... But I got up. I stood up to walk on for another day. I dealt with my emotional amnesia the only way I knew I could and that was by writing it out into poetry. I wanted to forget my pain and forget what I was going through. I needed that cut of the blade or a pill to drink to take everything away. My poetry became both my pill and my blade... Now I share the most intimate part of myself with the world. The part of me I kept hidden in the closet. The part I never thought I would ever present to the world. Now is the time I have to stop having amnesia about my emotions. It is time to learn, to better myself and to stand up and remember the things that I shut out like a voluntary amnesia all these years. Those who are offended after reading this - f**k you! I ran downstairs into the living room, my heart pounding as I found all my brothers gathered around Nefeli. Her eyes were frantic, scanning the room, desperately searching for me. The scream that bastard had let out earlier must have reached her... The moment our eyes met, she practically threw herself at me, wrapping her arms around me so tightly I could barely breathe. I stood frozen for a moment, unsure of what to do. I hugged her back anyway... Even though I had no idea what was going on. "Thank God you're safe" she murmured in my ear, her voice trembling, leaving me even more confused. I glanced at my brothers. They all looked just as lost as I was. Except for Aiden and Alex. They were motioning for me to hold on. "Of course I'm okay, Nefeli. What happened?" I asked, my heart tightening. I hated seeing her like this, so worried and panicked. "I-I heard Alex and Aiden talking in Italian!" she stammered, her eyes wide with panic. "They said something about the Mafia! Are we being threatened by the Mafia?" Though their family missed her after searching for a year they gave up and realized that she did not want to be found never knowing about the triplets. She had the triplets and gave them away to a kind man and his wife at 6 their father died and their adoptive mother started to bring her boyfriends around. These boyfriends helped their mother become a drug addict and they started the abuse to the young kids. The kids moved around a lot growing up living wherever their mother's boyfriend was living and later with their step-father where the abuse got worse when they were 10 years old.
