Fifteen-year-old Gina Brink lives in a world that is, well, color coded. But not based on the color of your skin, instead on the color of your eyes. On her 16th birthday, Gina will go to a sorting center to placed in a category that will determine her lifestyle.
Brown eyes= rulers, diplomats, mayors, congressmen
Green eyes= middle class, teachers, lawyers
Blue eyes= hired help, laborers, farmers, guards
Gray eyes= servants, slaves, criminals, assassins
Unfortunately for Gina, her eyes happen to be stormy gray in color. She will never mean anything in life. That is, until her mother gets invoked and Gina relies on the few thing that may save her:
Bravery
Gratitude
Heroism
Love
Patience
Mercy
and most important,
Colored Contacts
