Nearly two decades have passed since the United States was salted into radioactive oblivion and forsaken by the outside world. Now, as the twentieth anniversary of the Salting approaches, the Triumvirate of Newnyc vies within itself for control-and the future of the city.
Caught in the midst of this turmoil are a few dozen young cadets, the last hope for Newnyc's survival in a ruined world. As they are called into action, they find themselves embroiled in a web of deceit, uncertain alliances and ever-deadlier stakes.

Sanctuary. That was what the quarantine dome was supposed to be, a place of refuge from the N-Gel and the deadly Neoplague they unleashed on the world. But we aren't safe here. Senna is uprooted from her rural life in the outer dome when her mother agrees to marry the President of Sanctuary.
