What if we found intelligent life in the universe? What would happen if they came to us not as enemies, but as refugees?

Cipher is a stranger in a strange land. From a different world.
He has spent most of his young life preparing to represent his people among the humans, proving that Aeolians can live among humans. He and several others are enrolled in schools scattered across the world. But integration is never easy, and as one of the first Cipher must bear the brunt of it.
Will he succeed in his mission or is it too much to ask of someone so young?

Being the daughter of a self-made businesswoman and a famous pianist, she knew she was destined for greatness, but in sophomore year when she was publicly dumped by her boyfriend for her sister, she felt her friends and life slipping away. Junior year she knew that the scholarship to the art school her sister wanted would be her saving grace. She would easily get in if not for her. What started as a small competition spanned into a decade-long rivalry between the two girls. Both ambitious and always after excellence. With the turn of fate, they are once again competing head-on with each other. With the growing competition, a new boy comes along catching everyone's attention including those two and soon they find themselves competing for something other than the scholarship. As time plays with the hearts of the sixteen-year-olds they move towards adulthood and with that comes messy feelings, responsibilities, fear of the future, and a glimpse into the world outside. As the days pass and they grow closer, the girls find themselves questioning is he the one? or are they each other's perfect half?

"Listen, I've got a proposition for you," Azure's firm voice flew across the soft wind of the graveyard, "something mutually beneficial." Elliot stepped back slightly, "I doubt that." Azure stepped closer and the street light flickered; he then whispered, it was soft, like the fall of dead leaves, "I can help you keep your scholarship. Don't you want to keep your dream a reality?" Elliot narrowed his eyes, "Did you do a background check on me?" "That doesn't answer my question." "And that didn't answer mine." (Abridged) -/- Life had never been fair to Elliot. After barely managing to scrape by, he somehow made it to his junior year at Central Haven, one of the most prestigious preparatory high schools in the country. He was prepared for another two tiresome years of high school, but the future has other plans for him. The start of the school year brings with it the infamous Central Haven merit project. Unfortunately, it's done in pairs this year. Even worse, he's stuck with Azure, notorious for his flippant demeanor. His living situation gets worse and his scholarship is at risk. Azure notices Elliot's struggles and the two make a deal. Surely Azure's up to something, but what? Regardless, Elliot isn't in a position to refuse. ...Maybe they'll find and lose Liberation. -/- If you're unsure about this reading this story, I hope you'll at least stick around to chapter 7 when the story begins ramping up. This story is a slow burn, enemies to friends to lovers. Please do not take this story at surface value as there is a lot of subtext. Be aware: the story can be extremely subtle. The story delves into various topics with social commentary so if you want a nuanced modern romance story, I highly suggest you give this story a try. Elliot is a strong protagonist, just less traditional. Updates will come on Fridays at 4 p.m. (PST) with most months having at least one update. The ending is planned so the story won't be incomplete.

Dean would do anything to have friends. He's constantly bullied and has no one to turn to. He try's to stay positive even though everything is falling apart. He was forced to move out of home and he's currently in his last year of school. He lives alone and school is hell for him. He sits alone and can never catch a break. Andrew was force to change schools and is nervous about moving to a new part of town. Andrew is the kind of guy who try's to be friends with everyone but sometimes that gets him into trouble. He thought the best way to get to know the neighbourhood would be to just walk around. That's where he meets a friendly bloke at a dinner.... It's cliché but I don't care. I would appreciate it if you had a read of it. Advice is always wanted! WARNING: bullying, swearing, violence
