Some mistakes take months or years to collapse. Some take centuries...

The elven kingdom of Marsdenfel is poised on a precipice. Its father, Breidentel, has essentially collapsed and become its child.

Salles, its old longtime alley, has been chafing from years of rule by conquerors who ignored the realm's class divisions, and the current ruler has been missing for months. The crown heir is consort of another realm--Grehafen, an enemy of Marsdenfel from its very founding, which more recently enslaved Marsdenfel and even now claims a bastard of Marsdenfel's royal line for its queen.

And just before the king of Salles went missing, a nearby island of slavers assassinated the king of Marsdenfel, kidnapped that king's son, and left a teenage boy as ruler of Marsdenfel.

The entire region is like tinder awaiting a spark.

And it might have just found one.

The Atonement of a Writer

41 parts Complete

Lilianne Marineau, aka Lili, a struggling writer like you and me, wakes up to find herself in the body of Arielle Dumont, the female protagonist in her own, half-written novel. What would happen next? She sure as hell doesn't know. At first, all Lili wants to do is survive, and is overcome with the feeling that she had been bound by chains of her own making. Soon enough, though, she realizes she had been atoning for the wrong thing--and maybe, just maybe it was not her fault. A story of a writer who has to live as a character in a world she hasn't quite fully developed yet. A terrible writer with terrible concepts of magic in a fantasy world--and yes, there are glitches. TW: anxiety/depression/existential crisis esp in the earlier chapters, but quite mild, nothing we all haven't experienced before (I think anyone would reasonably panic in MC's situation). Still overall fairly lighthearted
