The beasts have been attacking for months now. Each night, they enter the town, tear apart houses, and devour the inhabitants. Weapons are useless. The townsfolk have nowhere to go and no hope left. And then a huntsman walks into town. The first day, he kills three of the beasts, bringing back their heads as trophies. The huntsman's band continues to rid the forest of the monsters, bringing back heads and pelts every evening. They're heroes. Or are they?

After Death offered him another chance in life, a young artist struggles to live between two worlds: the human one where he fulfils his banal duties as an unknown artist and the supernatural world where he lives as a notorious beast whose head is hunted by countless masses. *** The Day-Lynx, a malformed lynx-like beast in Borealm Woods, has never done the Mountkirk locals harm. But the beast has become infamous among the citizens of the realm, leading both the villagers and outsiders to hunt it down and end its reign, even if they have to get their hands dirty. For years, it haunts the daydreams and nightmares of not only children, but even the toughest adults as well. When a bad incident strikes one of the villagers and involves the beast, the hunt for it ravages more than ever. However, some people are against the plan, including Rozell, an indie paintgrapher who's eager to portray nature in a more positive light. But only time can decide if his defiance can last long enough. And in the end, only the villagers can determine whether Rozell is only trying to avoid unnecessary trouble, or if he has chosen to save the beast instead of himself. • ONC 2021's Longlist Ambassadors' Pick and Shortlist Qualifier • 3rd Place in Fantasy - The Lucent Awards • 926/81.4k in Paranormal (October 2nd, 2021) • Featured in Gems Under 1k (July 2021) by Wacky Writers • Featured in More Than the Eye Can See (March 2022) by Speculative Fiction The surreal cover's credit goes to @Laentheon and her graphic shop, A Matter of Time.

In a small, misty town nestled at the edge of a vast, enchanted forest, lives Elena, a young woman with a mysterious past she can't remember. She's always felt drawn to the forest, even though the townspeople warn of dangerous creatures that lurk within it under the full moon. One evening, while wandering near its edge, she encounters a wounded wolf with eyes that seem unnervingly human. Against her better judgment, she helps it, only for the creature to disappear by morning. Days later, a mysterious stranger, Lucas, arrives in town. Handsome and rugged, Lucas has a dark, secretive air. He seems strangely familiar to Elena, and as they grow closer, she notices that he always vanishes on the nights of the full moon. Her curiosity soon leads her to a discovery - Lucas is a werewolf, cursed to transform every full moon, struggling to balance his humanity and the beast within. As their love deepens, Elena learns that the curse isn't just his - it's part of her forgotten past as well. The bond between them isn't accidental but destined. Elena's family had been part of a lineage of protectors, those who once safeguarded the world from the wrath of werewolves but were wiped out in a tragic betrayal. Now, Elena is the last of her kind, the key to breaking the curse, but only by facing unimaginable danger. Lucas and Elena must navigate their growing love, while also dealing with rival werewolves, a mysterious witch, and the secrets that have been buried deep within the forest. Together, they must decide whether love is strong enough to tame the beast - or whether the beast will destroy everything they hold dear.

Moving out of the city was not her idea. Moving to the middle of nowhere in a foreign country was definitely not her idea, and leaving everything she knows and loves behind is the farthest thing from what she wants; since living with a Father, who hates her without the support of her friends is going to royally suck. Besides the family drama, the forests of her new home are far from empty. There are men in the trees. One in particular who watches intently yet does not approach. He holds the secrets to her past, and to her future. What will Lily do when she comes to learn that some men are born beasts, and some humans are monsters?
