In a world where the kids of beach city have grown into beautifully flawed adults, Steven explores bisexuality while Connie explores college life. When Connie visits for a weekend, she realizes Steven isn't the kid she used to hang out with anymore. He is barely at all like her memories, and even though they've only technically been truly apart for a year, they feel the need to reintroduce themselves. Is their friendship falling apart or blooming into a new kind of relationship? It's hard to tell amid all the adultery, lies, abandonment issues, and reckless love.
