Alessandra's plan is simple: graduate as the valedictorian, attend the university of her dreams, and become a journalist. Throw in nosy family, annoying best friends, and classmates hellbent on making their last year of high school the biggest ongoing party of the century, and you have something a little less simple -- but manageable.

She thinks she has everything in the bag until the past comes waltzing back into her life in the form of one Skandar Mendoza. Something simple quickly becomes complicated when the line between truths and lies start to blur. With him in the mix, Alessandra's life becomes one walking contradiction after the other. It takes a ridiculous amount of willpower to hold it together in one cohesive puzzle --

If the pieces still fit, that is.

This time, I can't help but flinch as he touches me and pulls the other strap down .. baring my other shoulder to his eyes. "Anthony .. you can't say those things. We .. we're supposed to be best friends." As I try to reason with him, he begins to kiss my shoulder .. making the words come out so much more weaker than intended. Anthony stays quiet after what I say, or rather he ignores me, instead using his other hand to play with the skin on my stomach exposed from the top. "I know .." He trails off. I hold my breath, anxious as I wait to hear what he's going to say next. "But I genuinely don't know if that's enough for me anymore .." Anthony moves my hair to side, and the words he speaks are paired with a slow kiss to the nape of my neck. Beatrix thought she'd never trust another guy again. After having her heart broken and being bullied out of her high school, when an opportunity to leave takes the form of a scholarship to a private university, she packs up and accepts happily. She swears she hates him. He's convinced he hates her more. But when secrets, lies, and late-night whispers begin to blur the line between enemies and something they wouldn't even consider, neither of them is ready for what's coming. *** Aliana is loud, impulsive, and dangerously unpredictable. She lies when she's scared, smiles when she's breaking, and keeps everyone away with her endless sarcasm and sharp tongue. She doesn't need anyone. Especially not him. Ali is silent storms and cold stares. The boy with the bad reputation, a past no one talks about, and a temper that makes people flinch. He wants nothing to do with drama, especially when it wears red lipstick and calls him names. They can't stand each other. So why do they keep ending up alone in the same room? Why does every fight feel like foreplay? And why does hating him hurt more than it should? ~~~~~~ He kisses me, again and again, raw and consuming, and then pulls away; I can feel his green eyes piercing my soul. "What you told me last time, say it again," he whimpers breathlessly. "What?" I manage to ask, confused, and reel him in again for another kiss. He pulls back again, his breath hot against my skin. "That you hate me, tell me that you hate me." "I hate you," I tell him almost instantly, the lie burning on my tongue. He kisses me harder and more hungrily, and the words slip out again from my tongue: "I hate you. I hate you. I hate you." His murmurs deepen into groans, and at this exact moment, I ask myself how I'm still standing, still breathing, still present. ~~~~~~
