In my world, a tattoo appears on your skin at a key point in your life and you have to figure out what it means for yourself. I was 13 when mine appeared. It was in beautiful italics, not too big, on the inside of my upper arm and was just one word (or name in this case): Jonathan.

This isn't real," I whispered. I checked the mirror again and searched all over my body to see if I had any other markings, but so far this was the only one. I shut my eyes, trying to force myself to wake up, but this was real. And for the first time, out of all the panicking, my vision went black.
