My name is Delaney and this is my story. I feel compelled to give you fair warning before you embark on my journey. It's messy. It's chock-full of terrible choices and split-second decisions filled with bad judgment. It's rough, complicated and angsty-but, hey, isn't that what real life is? You live and learn through experience. You (hopefully) mature and don't make the same mistakes twice. These, however, are tough lessons to learn when you're trying to navigate through. Sure, dear reader, you will have ideas of how I could've handled it all better-I know I certainly do, in retrospect. But, I'm me. I'm human. And to err is human, right? Isn't that the popular quote people love to use as an excuse? Well-there it is. Read my life story, I dare you, but remember you've been warned.

The divorce of her parents does not come as a surprise to Delaney, however her mother's swift decision to relocate to Florida throws her for a loop. After enrolling in classes at university, she makes fast friends with Shane, the quintessentially perfect guy. Jaded by her past experiences with relationships, Shane completely confounds her.
