"I'm sorry queen of day dreams, did I scare you?" Of course, it was Maggie. "No you peasant, I was merely a little startled." We both laugh and she gives me her best stink eye. One eye all scrunched up and her lips puckered off to one side. "Hey, you started the random nicknames" I say trying to match her face. "I thought you liked nicknames" My eyebrows immediately go up "Now, you must have me confused with one of your other friends" She starts to give me a weird face when I hear someone clear their throat. Genevieve Harrison is a high school senior. The only reason she hasn't dropped out is because of her best friend Maggie. The pair share the same humor and occasionally the same clothes. The reason she wants to drop out probably isn't what your thinking. She's a good student, but her anxiety holds her back from a lot of things. Will she overcome some of her fears? Let's find out. *Cover by @isihasenberg ❤️* (this story was originally a 20 page short story so you might have to bare with me)

They never tell you what to do when five girls from your school go missing. They never tell you what to do when you witness them getting murdered in the middle of the woods. Tragedy seems to follow me around. It constantly lurks behind me, waiting for the exact moment to snap its fingers and mess up everything. And that night, everything changed. Because, after that night, I wasn't the same person anymore. I'm not known for being reckless. It's not me. But now, after I saw death with my own eyes, I can't seem to care anymore about the consequences. I got involved too deeply, and now it's too late to turn around. There is only one rule. Lie. •••••• Genevieve Farrow is a sweetheart. A girl with a heart of gold who struggles on her own. No one sees the scars that she hides so well, or the battles she has to face every day. Despite the mask that she tries to put up, existing is just exhausting for Genevieve. Dealing with her own problems is more than enough for her. That's until she finds herself tangled in a crime scene that she can't run away from, and everything in her life seems to turn upside down. Pike Charleston is the type of boy people warn you to stay away from. Hot-headed, stubborn, and aggressive, he's known for his dangerous reputation. But he has secrets that no one knows of. A past that he desperately tries to forget. A boy that was forced to grow up sooner than he should have. Pike thinks he will never find peace, but when he gets a glimpse of her, it seems like happiness is in the cards for him. Two tattered souls finding each other. Both broken and lost. So wrong and yet so right for each other. But will love be enough to hold them together? Will it be enough to earn them a happily ever after? There's only one way to find out. •••••• Started: December 27, 2023 Finished:
