A restless college graduate abruptly leaves behind all he's ever known and loved to build the life he's secretly dreamt of, far from the world in which he was raised. Soon he's faced with a mirror of his own struggles, and must realize that his happiness, and hers, hinge on more than a any one person's self-centered desires. 

(This was one of my first completed short stories, from around 2011. Though it's probable my writing has improved since then,  this piece remains special to me nonetheless)
