DISCLAIMER: I DID NOT WRITE THIS STORY. IT IS MY ATTEMPT TO TRANSLATE THE FRENCH NOVEL "Brainless" BY JEROME NOIREZ. THANK YOU.

Jason, mediocre teenager nicknamed Brainless, lives in Vermillion, a small town in South Dakota where youth gets bored. Everyday, Brainless gets a formaldehyde injection, so that he does not rot. Since he died, suffocated by a massive ingestion of corn, the two hemispheres of his brain have trouble communicating. His stomach only digests raw meat. He stopped sleeping and breathing. Besides that, his everyday life did not change much since he started suffering from JHCS - Juvenile Homeostatic Coma Syndrome, a new disease targeting adolescents, more and more widespread across the United States - in other words, since he became a zombie... It only happens, sometimes, that he wonders what the human brain might taste like.
But among his classmates, some have far more macabre projects.

The Virus Within (Original rough draft) de CrystalScherer
144 partes Concluida
Back by popular request! The 2017 rough draft of The Virus Within! (Caution: Contains massive plotholes that were fixed in the polished The Virus Within Series. Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. It has nothing to do with A Different Virus. I wanted to try a book with an easily irritated main character and a nutcase secondary character. This book has a slightly darker outlook at the beginning than my usual stories, but it has some humor further along. Definitely not a horror story, although it has its share of action. 4 updates a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday! Copyright April 2017. All Rights Reserved. guys please don't read this anymore lmao i write totally differently now💋 _________________ In a future where humans are genetically modified -- 'altered' -- at the age of sixteen, the world has been, until now, a safe place. Without changing a person's personality, undergoing the Alteration perfects their appearance, IQ, and even their immunity to diseases. No human passes the age of sixteen without being Altered. In the blink of an eye, things change. An ominous message is sent out to all of those below the age of sixteen, providing precise instructions that suggest they flee. Simultaneously, a deadly virus starts to spread all about the world, attacking only the Altered -- every human over the age of sixteen. The virus eats at the modified human brain, and soon the Unaltered begin to realise that the Altered are losing their minds. Home is no longer safe. Friends and family turn on one another, losing control of their own minds and bodies. The Unaltered aren't safe. Even if the virus isn't attacking them, the ones with the virus are. Set on a pristine, futuristic Earth, this is the apocalypse like you've never seen it before. (Rated mature for graphic depictions of violence and mild language.) Banner credit to @itsnothardtodreamx 1st Place winner in the 2020 Spring Awards! Runner up in the 2020 Harmony Awards! 2nd place in the Belle Amé Awards 2020! [This piece was originally for the Open Novella Contest 2020, but has now surpassed the length of a novella and is a novel.]
