(adj.) Saying much in few words.
A Bucky Barnes story.
"I didn't mean to fall in love with her, Steve. It just kinda happened." - Bucky.
What if Cap had come out of the ice earlier? Had a daughter in the process? Carissa hadn't been planned, certainly, and she had been a slight burden on Captain America. When her mom died, he found himself being her primary caregiver. It scared him, to say the least. He was glad to have Nat and Tony to help with raising her. Now he had Tony to thank whenever she delivered a smart-ass comment.
Carissa Rogers didn't mean to fall for her dad's best friend, it just kinda happened. It wasn't long before Bucky started to show a reciprocated interest in the Rogers girl. But the universe has a really colorful way of pulling them apart. Red, purple, blue, yellow, green, and orange.

Steve was a simple man. All he wanted in the world was to be clean and warm. And maybe (time permitting) to complete his set of toy soldiers.
Also (if he was really indulging himself here), it'd be nice to sleep through the night uninterrupted, just once. And it'd be even nicer if Maisie Moore was there with him in his bed, pressed against him all night, clean and warm, maybe soft (he thought she looked soft).
And maybe (if he was really fantasizing here) if Maisie kissed him goodbye in the morning and if she smiled at him like she actually meant it, and maybe if she did all that because she was desperately in love with him--
Well, that would really be something.
