Josephine lives with her scientist widower father and has just graduated high school in what is now called New America. She had a promising life ahead of her, an opportunity to go to college which hardly anyone has the chance to do anymore. But before any of that could happen, her fathers recent past comes back to haunt him. Rather than let the New American government steal his research and use it for hostile take overs, he hides it in his daughters mind. While doing so he imbues his daughter with powers that she has to gradually learn about, powers that are enhancements of her natural abilities.
