Adrenaline.
A speeding car down an empty freeway.
The freefall after you jump.
Dangling your legs over the edge of a skyscraper.

We chase it. We crave it. We need it.

Sometimes it's something simple, like watching a horror movie or reading a good book, sometimes it's pushing yourself to face your fears, sometimes it's when your childhood crush holds your hand for the first time.

Or sometimes it's just a pair of green eyes that you know you shouldn't be getting lost in.

But what happens when the adrenaline fades and the reality of what you've just done sets in? The choices you've made while riding the high, the risks you've taken to get those few fleeting moments of euphoria catching up with you in your real life. Coming down from it all just makes you crave it all over again, and sometimes the things you'll do to find it end up costing you everything.
