The Pawn

Andranika Valkyrie Piedmonte was a soldier in her father's army. A simple pawn on his golden chess board.
Her mother, a woman she had never met before, was the queen. Was, before she was sacrificed for her father's gain.
Her father, Icarus, has been slowly moving his pawn towards the other side of the board for 17 agonizing years. After the 'incident' he thought his plans were ruined by this pawn. He almost gave up hope but, an idea struck. What if he used this pawn instead? This tiny pawn cradled in his arms could be useful after all.
Now after 17 years of precarious and cautious training. With each lesson a faultless move by the chess master. There is only one move away from victory. All that's left is for the pawn to choose. This leaves us with one delicate question: What will this pawn choose?
