"I hate you," she muttered and I was taken aback.
I looked at the guys for a quick second and back at her.
"W-"
"Don't ever scare me like that again," she said harshly, colliding with my body.
I cringed hard and Erik pulled away so he wasn't in the middle of our embrace.
I wrapped my arm around her tight waist and held her against me. I never planned on letting her go. Ever.
"I'll try. I'll try for you," I whisper in her ear, my lips brushing against her skin.

Rachel is a strong girl that has a strange past of stealing. She still owes some people money and now they want to kill her. She hides her identity away from these men. That doesn't necessarily mean that they don't know where she is though . . .
Rachel has like Chase since sixth grade. He was super cute but he was such a player, even in middle school. She knew that he would just break her heart but she took a chance on him in her senior year. He isn't quite what she expected him to be towards someone like her.
Chase is a tough cliche bad boy with a long line of fighting in the past only because he cared about his older brother and was trying to pay off his debt. Little did he know that the boss of his fights had a connection with Rachel.
Chase had always seen Rachel as the nerdy girl that had a pretty face. He would've never thought that he would have a strong set of feelings towards her. She has shocked him in so many ways and he's sure that she will surprise him more in the future.
