A land torn apart by countless wars has finally achieved peace. Wild creatures and cliquish species roam in their own lands. Sections of the continent are ruled by guilds that shadow over large territories. Although, ever since the end of the last Great War there has been something seeping through the cracks...

Most inhabitants are born with elemental attributes... But there are pieces of a powerful ancient magic that have been scattered to many children over time. Kori is one of these children, along with others. She doesn't rise above the rest naturally. Yet something could break free at any second.

That something is coming. It won't be that long until it gets here.
The question is, how do you stop something no one alive has ever faced?

[Author's note as of December 2020] This previously only had one chapter published and I had nearly abandoned it, but I'm back and have decided to continue the story. Enjoy!

In a world where magical creatures and humans intermix, there are two types of magic and two types of people. Dark magic and light magic. Good people and evil people. Our main character is going to learn that your powers do not define who you are as a person. Arion Griffin lives in a society where people with light magic are 'good' and people with dark magic are 'bad'. He comes from a long line of dark magic. Unfortunately, this causes many problems for his social life since his family's reputation precedes him and makes it so no one will talk with him. He is worried it will make his greatest fear come true. He is terrified he is on the path to becoming evil like his parents. Then, one day at school he gets an invitation from Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted. Sure he's heard of it, but only in rumors. The school is just for magical creatures to learn more about themselves and their history. It was made over three hundred years ago and still run by a fairy named Cassiopea and her daughter Cassia. Arion is excited to go because his parents refuse to teach him anything about other magical creatures other than dark magic. They believe it is irrelevant for him to know because they think he will take over the world one day. And why should a leader know anything about his subjects? Arion convinces his parents that if he goes to the school he can do recon on the other magical people so he can learn about them and make it easier for him to take over. With no friends, no siblings, and a very negative outlook on life, he heads to Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted. He makes friends and learns that just because he has dark magic, doesn't mean he is evil. *Idk if this is actually a good story but I had a lot of fun writing it! :) *This story has been edited
Curse of the Stars Book 1 by AprilCalderwood
39 parts Complete Mature
"You will seek death but you will not find it. You will long to lose consciousness but ever present you shall stay. Finally alone you will shrivel up and die without your own kind in all your magnificent splendor, and only after everyone you love is dead. By then, it will no longer matter, for when you finally have your light you will depart from it faster than fire from a raging wind. But perhaps you would have comfort yet little one. Death is a sweet thing in a world like this." Cursed by a Wishing Dragon when she was only a dragonet, Stygian sets off in search of a cure, leaving behind everyone she knows and loves. On her journey for help she meets more enemies than friends, with a little red fox as her only companion. At last she finds Turbulence; God of Confusion; the only one who can save her, or so he or she claims. *** Fyran, the Librarian's Apprentice is on the hunt for Leviathan; a legendary beast long foretold by prophecy, a prophecy she had disregarded as an old fable. Yet, ever since her father stumbled into their broken down house one dark night covered in blood and deliriously talking about a dragon with iron teeth, Fyran is no longer so sure. After her father dies and renders them all penniless, Fyran goes in search of this creature to take revenge-and the huge bounty on its head issued by the King of Sufta. Perhaps she will be successful and they'll no longer have to grovel as the poorest of the poor, and at the very least she'll acquire justice for the murder of her father, the only father she's ever had. But there is an old and forgotten prophecy as old as time fast approaching on the horizon. Nobody can stop it, fate is a force that can't be reckoned with, and everything that ever has and will ever happen to every citizen has already been foretold in their scrolls. The fate of Sufta is uncertain, and powerful forces are at play, but who has enough discernment to understand a long forgotten prophecy that's been dismissed by generations?

Elyra: Legend Reborn by AoNoNgao
11 parts Ongoing
There is a force older than time itself, flowing unseen through the land, the skies, and the souls of those who walk this world. Some call it magic. Others, destiny. But in Elyra, power is not merely taken-it is earned, stolen, fought for, and sometimes... cursed upon the unworthy. The continent stretches endlessly, its lands carved by ancient wars and civilizations lost to history. Ruined cities stand as silent witnesses to battles long forgotten, their stone walls whispering secrets only the daring seek to uncover. Deep within the mountains, martial artists forge their bodies into weapons beyond human comprehension, their strikes capable of shattering steel. In the grand halls of scholars, mages bend the laws of reality, weaving spells that twist the very fabric of existence. Some claim magic is boundless, limitless in potential... but those who reach too far often find themselves consumed by forces they cannot control. But for every force that builds, another seeks to destroy. Beneath the surface, fire rages in an endless inferno, a realm where even the bravest fear to tread. High above, unseen hands pull at the strings of fate, shifting the balance of the world with every whisper. And hidden within sealed chambers, beings older than the stars slumber, their names long erased from mortal tongues. Legends speak of a kingdom that once ruled everything, a kingdom that no longer exists. Some say it was consumed by its own greed, others whisper of a power too great for the world to bear. Yet remnants remain-artifacts, symbols, fractured pieces of a puzzle scattered across the land, waiting for those foolish or ambitious enough to seek them. The air is shifting. The world stirs. Something is waking up. And when it does, Elyra will never be the same.
Children of Adaygue Book 1: Mad World by chaosgoettin
18 parts Ongoing Mature
Book One. It's a strange, even mad world indeed. A world where magic once long ago filled the air, and was felt within everything, until humanity explored it's potential for power, destruction, and war. And with it came the true nature of it: Chaos, the source of magic. It nearly ripped apart creation, and thus, some legendary hero took sealed it away to protect the creation from destruction- Adaygue, Great Mother to everyone. She became the deity to protect magic, and her followers called herself "Children of Adaygue". 3135 years later, after countless of wars, magic flickers and loses its meaning. But the people "blessed by Adaygue" face segregation, racism, and exploitation from the countries they live in. The story revolves around a group of people from all over the world: Madleine and Marik Winterfeldt, siblings by choice and Gene, a young noble living in the old Holy Empire of German Nation, a nation riddled with magical infested rifts as literal scars of war, and in continuesly danger of being at war again with it's powerful neigbour, The Holy French Empire of the Sun. On the other side of the planet, in the United Kingdom of America, magic abled people have more possibility to work with their "blessing", if it is viewed more useful. This means to fight against giant beasts from faultlines, that have strange connections to rifts. There is a band of people quite successful with it and one in particular is celebrated like a popstar: Hades, (self-declared) God of the Underworld, trying to survive a world where the only worth a person like him is how much money he generates for the large companies called "guilds". It's a world ruled by chaos. A mad world indeed.

So, here we are, all of us, lost in this mystical realm with zero memory of where we came from. It's like we all took the world's worst vacation, and now nobody can find their way back home. And guess what we have to guide us? A poem. Because why bother with maps or instructions when you can have cryptic, poetic nonsense? It's almost like Serenus wants us to play a twisted game of "figure it out before you die." Now, the world itself is a total trip. It's a magical land where anything is possible, except, apparently, for things making sense. But don't let the pretty flowers and magical buffets fool you-something's not quite right in this enchanted Eden. You've got all these resources lying around just begging to be used for peace, justice, and all those other warm, fuzzy ideals. It's like someone set up the perfect civilization starter kit, but forgot to mention that some of these folks are dead set on turning this dreamland into their own personal dystopia. And with their magical abilities, they're like toddlers wielding chainsaws-adorably dangerous, but mostly just dangerous. Meanwhile, me and my merry band of misfit friends are stuck trying to save this world from self-destruction. Because apparently, we're the only ones who read the brochure about this place being a "civilized society based on values." And while we're at it, I'm also on a little side quest to answer the age-old question: Who am I? It's not like I have bigger things to worry about, like, I don't know, preventing magical Armageddon or anything. With a charming mix of wit, sarcasm, and a healthy dose of "what-the-heck-is-going-on," the story of Serenus follows our nameless protagonist as they unravel the mysteries of this strange land, all while trying to avoid becoming dino-chow or the latest victim of a magical mishap. It's a tale of self-discovery, magical frisking, and just trying to survive another day in this oh-so-serene-and completely crazy-world.
